TWIKE 4 – THE PROTOTYPE
You do not build Germany’s most innovative vehicle for 12 years without learning something along the way. The X-Prize in 2010 was the reason for us to go back to the drawing board and completely reinvent the TWIKE. With the help of chassis experts, we developed a vehicle with its driving dynamics centred between a motorcycle and a car, thus, giving it tremendous cornering stability. Our radical rethinking was also reflected in the joystick steering, which – unlike the TWIKE 3 – can be operated with the left, right or both hands.
When we flew to the US in June 2010, we had the larger part of our X-Prize adventure already behind us.

According to the requirements of the Progressive Automotive X-Prize, our competition car achieved the following values:
Maximum speed: > 130 km/h | Accelleration: 0 – 96 km/h < 18 sec |
Range: > 160 km on a single charge | Consumption < 12kWh / 100 km
We were thrilled. Now the X-Prize could begin.
